Buttons and banners and everything nice - that's how you get entries for your short story contest

I made a few more buttons that "advertise" my short story contest! Feel free to take any one that you like. Here are the choices:

1.

Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!

2.

Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!

3.

Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!

4.

Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!

Do you like those buttons? I hope you do... and I hope you choose to put one up on your blog (if you have one. If not... no hard feelings). It would really help me get more... er, publicity for this short story contest. *NOTE* If you DO put one of the buttons up on your blog(s), that receives extra points in the contest!! (And remember, there is still that other button with the blinking text at the top of my blog's home page)

And keep writing on your stories! Remember, the word count has gone up from 700 to 1500.  I hope to get lots of amazing stories!!

Well, they're no precious rubies...

OK, let's make this clear. I am not a wealthy person. The contents of this page will be extremely... er, LESS valuable than rubies. Got it? Good - we're on the same page.

Now that I got that off my chest I can reveal the prizes for the short story contest. Here they are!

3rd Place ~

An award that says "I Won Lizzy's Short Story Contest."

2nd Place ~

Your own personal blog button, created by me. Give me your blog's name and the link through my email (mutemathgirl@comcast.net) and I will create one for you. NOTE: You are not required to use the button - it is just a free gift for winning 2nd Place. Also, (if you wish) you can give me special instructions on how you would like the button to look.

1st Place ~

An award that says "I Won Lizzy's Short Story Contest," a personal blog button (see *above* instructions), and your story will be put in a special page all it's own on my blog.

~

Are you excited at the prospect of winning these prizes? Sorry - I had to go with these because I really have no way of getting any sort of material prize to you. I hope I didn't break your heart by giving you this sorry fact. But I enjoy creating this sort of stuff, and I thought it would be a good idea. However, I will admit it is not all my own - I have seen blogs that have little buttons on them that say "I Won _____." I didn't want to claim what is not my own, original idea - but how cool would that be if it was?!

A little reminder for those who plan to enter my short story contest: The ending date is May 7th (at midnight). The winners will be posted on May 8th. I will try to get the prizes to you as soon as possible! And, for those of you who don't know about my contest, here are the rules:

SHORT STORY CONTEST RULES:

1. Write a story. Make it fabulous, wonderful, the best story you ever wrote. But is must be original, it must be yours, and no one else may help you write the story. Plagiarism is against the rules, and it is also just plain rude.

2. The story must be 1500 words or less. Sorry. This isn't a novel-writing contest.

3. Submit the story to me through my email: mutemathgirl@comcast.net.

~

Well, that's about it! I deleted the last two rules, because you already know the ending date and the prizes. :) Please, please consider entering my contest!! It won't be much fun if there are only 2 or 3 entries! (And don't wait until the deadline to submit the story - extra points for writing a good story AND turning them in early!)

LATER EDIT: The prizes have been altered. See link: http://lizzyslovelylibrary.blogspot.com/2010/04/please-dont-faint.html
