Questions, Questions, and Yet More Questions...

02 June 2010

Taking this idea entirely from Merriette, who was the one from whom I learned about it (but she told me that Jo March was the one who actually invented it), I am deciding to have a question marathon. Yes, you heard correctly. The results of my most recent poll have come in, the question being "What should I do for my birthday post?" My birthday is on the 10th of June, so that's coming up soon... I need you all to ask questions! Many, many, many questions. Feel free to leave LONG comments - I don't mind! Then I will compile all of the questions into a long post on June 10th, answer them and... voila! You will have answers to the questions you always wanted to ask me.

You only have 1 week, so ask away!

Also, I completed Merriette, and Lizzy's blog buttons! I know, long wait, huh? I've been busy. But the wait is over and you can now see them! Melody, your photography button is coming along and it will be done soon.

Merriette's button:

Lizzy's button:

The HTML codes are refusing to publish without simply looking like a button with a drop-down HTML box, so follow these instructions from Nana's blog to convert your picture into a button:

Step 1. Copy the code below to a word document.

(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE" target="_blank" title=“YOUR BLOG TITLE HERE")(img alt="" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(center)

(/center) (center)
(textarea id="code-source" rows="3" name="code-source")(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE")(img border="0" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(/center)(/textarea)(/center)

Step 2. Change all the ( 's to <'s and all the )'s to >'s.

Step 3. Were it says "YOUR URL HERE",  you are going to delete that (leaving the quotation marks) and paste your blog address.

(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE/" target="_blank" title=“YOUR BLOG TITLE HERE ")(img alt="" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(center)

(/center) (center)
(textarea id="code-source" rows="3" name="code-source")(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE")(img border="0" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(/center)(/textarea)(/center)

Step 4. For this step you are going to need an account on Photobucket, Flikr, Image Shack, or any other free image hosting site.  Upload the picture you want your button to be. Right click on the picture, and select properties. Then copy the URL, and delete YOUR IMAGE URL HERE, and paste the image URL there. (see below)

(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE" target="_blank" title=“YOUR BLOG TITLE HERE ")(img alt="" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(center)

(/center) (center)
(textarea id="code-source" rows="3" name="code-source")(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE")(img border="0" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE")(/a)(/center)(/textarea)(/center)

Step 5. Write your blog title (or whatever you want people to see when they scroll over your button) where it says "Your Blog Title Here".

(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE" target="_blank" title=" YOUR BLOG TITLE HERE")(img alt="" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(center)

(/center) (center)
(textarea id="code-source" rows="3" name="code-source")(center)(a href="YOUR URL HERE")(img border="0" src="YOUR IMAGE URL HERE"/)(/a)(/center)(/textarea)(/center)

Step 6: Go to your layout page on your blog.  Click on "add a gadget"; "HTML/Jave Script" and paste this code in the box.

That's it! I just did it for both of your buttons, but unfortunately it would not publish as anything but a button with a drop-down box, so I couldn't give it to you as a code. I hope you don't mind doing the extra steps - they really are quite simple.
